Going Above & Beyond

SCUBAPRO's new T-FLEX leggings take UV protection to the next level.

T-FLEX leggings have been tested using the UV Standard 801 which tests fabrics in their "worst-case" scenario. In other words, in real world conditions of use - wet and stretched -- two stress factors that can adversely affect a fabric's protective qualities.

Garments that pass these stringent tests are labelled with a coveted UV Standard 801 UPF 80 tag, assuring users of the ultimate in quality and UV protection. This means, wet or dry, you have the peace of mind knowing you're fully protected.

UPF-80

UPF 80 is the best UV protection rating the industry has to offer. Under the UV Standard 801, fabrics are tested in their “worst-case” scenario -- wet and stretched – two stress factors that adversely affect a fabric’s protective qualities. So divers benefit from the ultimate UV protection, wet or dry.

Nylon

A nylon/spandex blend is considered the hands-down best material combination for dive wear. The nylon is lightweight, easy to care for and dries quickly. The spandex provides more fabric stretch and allows for comfort and form-fitting styling. Nylon/spandex blends offer enhanced hand feel and moisture control along with exceptional strength and abrasion resistance.

SCUBAPRO’s top-of-the-line UPF performance gear. Featuring a quality nylon/spandex blend – considered the best material combination for warm water or tropical use. The T-Flex earned a UPF 80 certification by UV Standard 801, the only UV certifying standard that tests fabric in real conditions of use – wet and stressed. This is the highest protection available in the industry.

  • › Maximum comfort – maximum stretch.
  • › Form-fitting for that sleek hydrodynamic look and feel.

UPF-80

Not all rash guards are created equal. Like every product that carries the SCUBAPRO name, the UPF collection is made with the best high-tech fabrics, provide the highest UV protection, and offer the widest choice of styles and colours.

UPF 80 is the best UV protection rating the industry has to offer. So divers benefit from the ultimate UV protection, wet or dry.

UNDERSTANDING UV RATINGS: WHAT IT MEANS

UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) and SPF (Sun Protection Factor) are both standards used to measure the effects of the sun on your skin. However, they employ
different approaches.

  • › SPF ratings are indications of the level of skin reddening; they are used primarily to measure the protective qualities of sunscreen.
  • › UPF ratings measure the amount of UV radiation that a fabric blocks.

To determine the UV protection of dive wear, standardized measuring methods are used, normally on dry and/or new gear. UPF ratings above 50 are considered to be in
the “Excellent” Protection Category. All of SCUBAPRO’s UPF collection are rated 50 or more.

However, SCUBAPRO’s new top-of-the-line T-Flex rash guards take UV protection to the next level. This category of dive wear is tested using the UV Standard 801 which tests fabrics in their “worst-case” scenario. In other words, in real world conditions of use – wet and stretched - two stress factors that can adversely affect a fabric’s protective qualities. Garments that pass these stringent tests are labeled with a coveted UV Standard 801 UPF 80 tag, assuring users of the ultimate in quality
and UV protection. This means, wet or dry, you have the peace of mind knowing we’ve got you protected.

UPF gear makes putting on a suit a snap while adding an additional layer of warmth.

CHANNEL FLOW TECHNOLOGY

This unique channel construction features a one-way wicking design that pushes moisture away from the body and toward the surface layer where it can evaporate faster. The loose-fit design of channel glow garments enhances comfort and helps keep the skin dry.
